Ballarat police are investigating a hit-run smash in Bungaree yesterday morning.
A Ross Creek woman received minor injuries in the collision, which occurred between 12.10am and 12.20am.
The 22-year-old woman was driving west along the Western Highway towards Ballarat, when an unknown vehicle approached from behind with its high-beam headlights on.
The vehicle collided with the woman’s 2011 model Mazda sedan, causing it to slide out of control into the centre grassed area of the highway before rolling several times.
The woman and a 31-year-old male passenger suffered minor injuries in the crash. The other vehicle did not stop, and continued driving off towards Ballarat.
Police believe the offending vehicle may have damage to its front end.
A subsequent search of the area failed to locate the vehicle.
Various emergency service vehicles attended the scene, and traffic was disrupted for a short time.
Ballarat police Constable Mark Partington said any information from the public who might have been driving past at the time would be crucial to the investigation.
