Hungry doesn't seem to know much about the food scene in Ballarat. There are quite a few restaurants serving very good meals.
He/she apparently doesn't realise there are three Japanese, three Indian and a number that serve Thai (6) as well as Chinese (6), Malaysian (2), Italian (4), Spanish, Mexican (2) as well as the many eateries with modern European menus that I know of.
Has Hungry looked anywhere but pubs? Look in the Yellow Pages which is where I did some research and I'm sure there are some I've missed. If one cannot find good dining in Ballarat then one is not looking very hard.
