Waight, who took a season away from the game in 2015, has been confirmed as a recruit by the Lions.
A past Ballarat Football League and Victoria Country representative, Waight’s comeback is a boost to a Redan outfit looking to better a string of preliminary final exits under coach Eammon Gill.
Gill has been locked in at the helm for 2016.
The club has also secured goalkicking midfielder Kurt Lenehan as a key recruit for next season.
Lenehan, who has previously played with Bungaree in the Central Highlands competition, signs from Warrnambool, where he has played the past two seasons.
He was part of Warrnambool’s losing grand final sides of the last two campaigns and looms as a good pick-up for the Lions.
Redan finished top of the ladder to claim the minor premiership at the end of the 2015 home and away season, but was sent packing from the competition with the preliminary final loss to North Ballarat City.
