Last season’s Ballarat District Bowls Division division one minor premiers climbed to fourth place on the ladder thanks to a 109-90 home win over Mt Xavier on Saturday.
After dropping the opening two games of the campaign, Ballarat backed up the round three win over Creswick by landing three of the day’s four rinks.
The result has lifted the team from a spot in ninth heading into the weekend’s clash.
Meanwhile, Ballarat Memorial Sports secured the biggest triumph of the round on Saturday with a 97-67 victory against Daylesford.
That win sees BMS jump from eighth to fifth, just one point behind Ballarat.
Ballarat East clinched a 10-shot home win over Midlands Golf, Learmonth maintained its place in second by beating Creswick by seven shots and ladder-leaders Buninyong is still the only undefeated outfit in the competition after a 94-85 success away to Central Wendouree.
