LIGHTNING STRIKE: Leigh Hercus stands next to a tree which was split in two after being struck by lightening on his farm at Eastville.

'We heard it from one kilometre away from our house,' his wife Kerry Punton said. 'The bark was completely blown off and the tree cracked in half.'
