It’s all part of their Meet The Maker event which will take place at the Sturt Street restaurant on November 19.
Red Peppa’s Sheree Allen said the casual event will focus on local food and wine.
“It’s an opportunity for people to gather some friends and come and enjoy some of the fabulous produce that’s available in regional Victoria,” she said.
Ms Allen said the evening will begin with wine from three local vinyards, Mount Beckworth, Mount Coghill and Myola, with guests offered the chance to speak with the vignerons about their wines during the night.
She said the night will continue with produce from the region’s best producers set to be showcased.
“Supporting local produce has always been important to us … Whilst the high quality of their produce is evident, it’s about supporting the local community and their families,” Ms Allen said.
“I think it’s fair to say that that’s what makes communities like ours such a great thing to be apart of.”
Ms Allen said head chef Chris Weatherson designed three courses of locally grown produce for the special event, including a charcuterie plate showcasing the region’s cured and preserved meats, an entree of crispy skinned pork belly with mixed grains, sweet potato and sour herb salad, and for main, 12-hour slow cooked Sher Wagyu beef cheek with confit eschallots, coconut cream poached kipfler potatoes and massaman curry sauce.
Dessert will feature a white chocolate and croissant bread, and butter pudding with Meredith goats curd and poached fruit.
Head chef Chris Weatherson, who is passionate about using local produce, said it was the quality of the produce and the passion of the people who make it that gives him confidence in their product.
“The challenge is to work with their products and create something that really works. When you start with quality ingredients the results are superior,” he said.
