The 47-year-old will be the headline act at the 2015 Sportsperson of the Year dinner, which will be held at the Ballarat Golf Club on February 10 next year.
Young Sportsperson of the Year, the Hollioake Medallion – which recognises outstanding sportspeople in team sport – and administrator of the year are among the other gongs to be awarded on the night.
Clarkson, who went to school at Ballarat Clarendon College, led the Hawks to a third-straight flag this year with a comprehensive victory over the West Coast Eagles.
This feat, which followed the breakthrough premiership in 2008, helped him become Hawthorn's most successful coach of all time.
Clarkson was recruited from Kaniva and played a total of 134 games and kicked 84 goals during his career with North Melbourne and Melbourne.
