But the method of his hat-trick was even rarer.
Corden claimed the three successive wickets over two innings during the team's heavy defeat at the hands of Darley.
The medium-quick brought about the last two dismissals of the Lions’ first innings – Ryan Ali and Sajith Rupasingha – before Darley declared during the next over.
Naps-Sebas then batted and was rolled for 116, leaving the Lions needing 71 off the last eight overs for outright points.
Corden took the new ball and had Ryan Moore caught behind with the first ball of his new spell to complete the feat.
He said he knew he was on a hat-trick before bowling the delivery, but admitted it was a shock that it all worked out.
“It was just above the top of off (stump). Just a stock standard (ball)," Corden said of the ball that beat Moore.
For the record, Darley fell 13 runs short of landing all 10 points, but still came away with first innings victory.
