The high-performance program schedule, from November 21 until December 15, begins in Italy before heading to France and finishing in the United States.
Basketball Ballarat athlete and coach development manager Nathan Cooper-Brown was full of praise for the highly-talented duo.
“I’m incredibly proud of both of them,” Cooper-Brown said.
“Just in knowing them for a short time, their work ethic and passion for the game has been fantastic.”
Cooper-Brown also said the tour would have a wide range of benefits.
“Basketball is such an amazing vehicle to improve people’s lives. It’s a lot more than just the game. Being able to go overseas, learn from cultures, be independent and travel with different people is just fantastic.”
Fisher, who excels as a shooting guard, made his South East Australian Basketball League debut for the Ballarat Miners in July.
The year 12 student finished his exams last week and is eagerly anticipating the coming weeks.
“I can’t wait to head out and play against different players, different countries,” Fisher said.
“I knew (at the start of the year) that I had this coming up, so I had to prepare myself throughout the year and get better with my game.”
Rush point guard Wynne joined WNBL club Bendigo Spirit’s development roster this summer and was excited about her first international exposure. Wynne has been counting down the days since finding out last year that she would be going.
“ I can’t wait. I’m very excited,” Wynne said.
“It’ll be great to learn about different things and all the different cultures.”
In Italy, Fisher and Wynne will play against junior pro league clubs, while in France they will train at INCEP, the French equivalent to Australian Institute of Sport.
When touring Florida, they will have the chance to watch Australia NBA star Matthew Dellavedova in action for Cleveland Cavaliers.
