Journalists from around Australia will gather in Ballarat on Monday for a stylised ‘spring’ lunch showcasing local produce.
The event will promote Ballarat Regional Tourism’s (BRT) marketing campaign ‘Ballarat in Bloom’, which seeks to capitalise on and celebrate the end of winter.
BRT chairperson Stuart Benjamin said the journalists were spending several days in Ballarat to participate in experiences tailored to the types of publications they reported for.
“Essentially we’re looking for them to have a terrific experience and they go home and write about it,” Mr Benjamin said.
He said the new tourism campaign took Ballarat’s reputation as a city in bloom to another level by packaging together a variety of events across food, wine, art, fashion and gardens.
