Meaniwhile the SES were kept busy with 15 central call outs. They attended a property in Delacombe where one woman had a lucky escape.
All power is restored in Ballarat according to PowerCorp.
5.48pm CFA has downgraded its advice to residents in Lucas, Bunkers Hill, Alfredton, Delacombe.
CFA confirmed firefighters have stopped the spread of the grassfire in the Lucas area and fire activity has subsided. The grassfire is now contained.
Residents are no longer considered to be under any threat.
5.20pm According to Powercor another 169 Wendouree residents are now currently without power. It is expected power will be reconnected at 7pm in the area.
306 residents in Sebastopol are also still without power. Power in these areas is expected to be reconnected at 6pm.
Power in Clunes has been restored to most residents.
5.15pm There are currently trees down at Nicholson Street, Ballarat East and Deep Lead Close, Canadian.
5pm TWO grassfires have sparked up again at Lucas this afternoon, both located off Cuthberts Road.
CFA Media confirmed the fires, which started up about 4.30pm, were under control before 5pm.
Twelve fire brigade units were dispatched to one fire, with another three sent to the other nearby, which burnt through about one hectare.
Last week’s grassfire at Lucas, also at Cuthberts Road but which burnt through 30ha, was treated as suspicious by police and CFA investigators.
4.40pm LUCAS FIRE | An advice message has been issued to residents in Lucas, Bunkers Hill, Alfredton and Delecombe following a bushfire at Cuthberts Road, Lucas.
There is currently no threat to communities, but residents have been urged to continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.
Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads.
The next update is expected at 6pm or as the situation changes.
Today has been declared a day of Total Fire Ban.
4.30pm POWER OUTAGES | Stormy weather conditions have caused havoc leaving 1636 residents in the Ballarat region without power.
According to PowerCor 305 residents have been affected by outages in Albert Street and Rowlands Street in Sebastopol.
A further 175 households have been affected in Miners Rest.
SES, CFA, police and PowerCor are attending a number of the locations. A number of fallen trees have been report in and around Ballarat.
