A political staffer whose bullying complaint brought down a government minister has left her job in the public service.

Special Minister of State Gavin Jennings confirmed the departure of Dimity Paul during Parliament on Wednesday.

Factional warfare broke out in Victorian Labor after Premier Daniel Andrews forced former small business minister Adem Somyurek to resign from the front bench over the bullying allegations.

Those allegations related to when Ms Paul served as chief of staff to Mr Somyurek.

Former Office of Police Integrity boss Michael Strong conducted an investigation into the alleged bullying.

Mr Strong's report found Mr Somyurek "took Ms Paul by the arm to prevent her from leaving his office then took her chin in his hand and shook it gently from side to side as a form of admonition" after a meeting in February.

When the report was released in July, Mr Andrews said the government had failed Ms Paul. "She is owed an apology. I want to apologise to her for the way she was treated," Mr Andrews said at the time.

Mr Somyurek has consistently denied the bullying allegations. He remains in Parliament on the back bench.

After his forced resignation in July Mr Somyurek lashed out in a press conference and warned the Labor government would be a "one term government" if factional infighting continued.
