In a Ballarat Netball Association premier league grand final re-match, Dela was too good for Brown Hill Forge Pizzeria, winning 53-47.
A 15-8 third quarter was decisive in Dela’s victory, as was talented goal keeper Emma Ryan, who was judged best on court.
It was retribution for Dela, which went down to Brown Hill in last year’s main event.
Dela coach Jo Dash said the players were driven by the loss.
“We were stung by that,” said Dash.
“We are a very proud club. After it, the players were committed to getting the cup back.
“It made us work even harder.”
Dash also praised the effort of both teams in the final.
“We knew all along that it would be a top game,” she said.
“There's a great deal of mutual respect between the two teams. It’s a rivalry built on that.”
In premier reserve, Wendouree Netball Association took home the Laffey Shield for a third straight year.
Wendouree held on to defeat the Eureka Kwiks 53-46, with best on court being awarded to wing attack Debra Hutchinson.
Meanwhile, the Dela Tbirds also made it three in-a-row in the 19/under competition, claiming the Camera House Trophy.
The Tbirds proved far too good for the Eureka Kings, winning 56-32. Stawell Gift winner and centre/wing attack Grace O’Dwyer was judged best player.
Season MVP award winners were also revealed at the event.
There was a three-way tie in premier league, with Dela Oscars’ Hayley Fidler, Eureka Kellies’ Lauren Jew and teammate Kelly Conroy all receiving the honour.
In premier reserve, Wendouree centre Stacey Cassella won the award, while Eureka Kings’ Ash Bylsma was deemed the season’s best player at the 19/under level.
