City of Ballarat Mayor Des Hudson said he hoped a lot of people would attend the event.
“It is for people to understand the process and what is being proposed on the site,” he said.
“Not just for people that live around the project, but for anyone that has a view.
“We are pretty excited about what the whole totally revamped precinct will become.”
The expressions of interest for the project were recently opened to the market and is expected to close on December 17. A request for further proposals is expected in early 2016.
When completed, the project is expected to completely transform the area and include a four-star hotel and convention centre out of the refurbished goods shed.
The Labor government have already committed $25 million to the project.
The session will be held on Monday December 7 at the Provincial Hotel on Lydiard Street between 3pm and 8pm.
