The former North Ballarat Rebels captain is now a Western Bulldog after being selected in Friday’s AFL rookie draft.
With the Bulldogs having formed a partnership with the City of Ballarat, Adcock will spend time back where he laid the foundation for his AFL career with the Rebels.
His first official visit as a Bulldog is likely to be at a community camp in the new year. The Western Bulldogs used their last selection in the draft, pick 46, to secure Adcock, who had been training at the Whitten Oval.
Adcock, who is originally from Maryborough, was delisted by the Brisbane Lions after a distinguished 206-game career, in which he spent two seasons a captain. He was co-caption with Jonathan Brown in 2013 and captain in his own right in 2014.
No Rebels or Roosters attracted any interest in the draft. Neither did other delisted former Rebels Matt Dea (Richmond), Louis Herbert (Gold Coast), Nick O’Brien, Kurt Aylett and Lauchlan Dalgleish (Essendon).
