A driver has mowed through a pedestrian mall, knocking down all in his path, including a toddler's stroller, in Coburg in Melbourne's inner-north.

The 47-year-old man was driving a red Toyota Camry when police allegedly saw him driving in an erratic manner on Sydney Road about 7.30pm on Friday.
Police attempted to pull the driver over, but he swerved into Victoria Mall, police say.

The car ploughed through the mall striking planter boxes, tables, chairs and a toddler's stroller before it came to a halt, a police statement said.
"The family and toddler seated at the table were not injured and thankfully the pusher was empty," the statement said.
The mall is a popular pedestrian mall with several cafes that leads to a local library and is closed to traffic.

The man then allegedly fled from the car to Coburg Railway Station where he ran "straight into the arms of waiting PSOs" a police statement said.
Fawkner Highway Patrol police charged the Footscray man with stalking, assault, possess controlled weapon, conduct endangering life, evade police, drive whilst disqualified, refuse drug test, possession of drugs and numerous traffic offences.
He has been remanded to appear at Ringwood Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
