A man is in hospital after being shot in the stomach in Broadmeadows.

Ambulance officers were called to the northern suburb and treated the man at the scene around 2.30pm on Tuesday.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital for further treatment.

Police believe a number of men were involved in an altercation on Northcorp Boulevard in Broadmeadows before the man was shot in the stomach.
He was then taken to a fast food restaurant on Sydney Road, where he called paramedics.
A Royal Melbourne Hospital spokeswoman said the man was in a serious but stable condition.
The gunman is still at large.
Channel 7 reporter Brendan Roberts told 3AW that there was a "pretty significant" police presence at the scene.
