A RESIDENTIAL gas line has ruptured along Main Road in Golden Point, just opposite the Red Lion hotel.

Pedestrians and traffic have been diverted away from the scene between York Street and Eureka Street, with the road also closed off.
CFA confirmed it received a call about the leak about 11.45am on Wednesday morning.
The immediate vicinity was doorknocked to notify them of the situation, with the leak brought under control about midday.
CFA crews from Ballarat and Ballarat City remain on the scene.
