AFL Grand Final tickets: Ballarat residents line up

Not even a bitterly cold night was going to stop Tania Sculley getting her hands on AFL grand final tickets.

Her beloved Collingwood Magpies might have bombed out on Friday night, but that was not enough to prevent her sleeping out in the cold to guarantee she got her hands on some tickets.

A smaller than usual crowd of about 20 poeple lined up on Armstrong Street this year, braving the elements on Sunday night to buy tickets.

For Ms Sculley, buying grand final tickets with her parents has become a strong tradition that will not be broken regardless of who is playing.

Every year the family attends The Footy Show grand final, grand final parade and of course the last day in September.

“I’ll go every year regardless of who is playing,” said Ms Sculley.

“It’s our big extravagance of the year, it’s something we have been doing for six years now.

“You start to see the same faces in the crowd every year.”

A wet grand final day is forecast, with possible rain forecast in the afternoon.
