Please park properly near local schools

This is an open letter to the parents who park in our service road when dropping off and collecting children.

We live in the service road opposite Damascus College. Twice a day our service road which is "local traffic only" fills up with parents in cars.

I have no problem with that, I understand that quite clearly the schools do not have carparks for parents but please think about where you park.

Parking with a towball hanging over our driveway is not fair, parking across our driveway is not fair either and, if we ever go and ask someone to move, we are normally met with hostility.

My husband has a heart condition - if I have to get out in a hurry, there is no way I could do so most of the time during the before- and after-school parking times.

There are rules about parking near driveways. We should all obey them. And to the lady who accused me of being rude when I asked her to move - just imagine if it was your driveway.
