GRAND final fever has swept over the city and in celebration of Saturday’s clash, The Courier has launched a new iPhone app assignment.
The assignment, which asks for readers to send their “greatest footy finals moment” is The Courier’s sixth pictorial assignment and is a chance to send in a picture of you and your mates in your footy colours.
Claiming to be Sydney Swans most dedicated fan, Veronica Boast has taken the grand final celebrations to the next level this year.
Hoping to show readers just how footy mad you can get for the photos, Ms Boast went and bought a life-size poster of Adam Goodes to display on her front fence in the lead up to the big game.
“I have been a Swans supporter all of my life,” she said.
“My grandfather played soccer for South Melbourne so I wanted to keep the family tradition going and I will be cheering for him this weekend.”
Ms Boast has even gone as far as naming her car after her favourite player Jude Bolton.
“I met him at The Regent in Ballarat one night and he’s just a really nice guy,” Ms Boast said.
“I have a ticket for the final and will be sitting with the Sydney Swans members with my game day jacket on.”
Friends Abbey Ross and Bridget Bourke are equally as excited for the grand final.
“I’ll be cheering for the Swans on Saturday but I’m tipping Ballarat boy Brad Sewell to win the Norm Smith Medal,” Ms Ross said.
To submit your photo just download the free app, click the “Report” button and choose “Assignments” to find the greatest footy finals moment photos category. Readers who submit images through the two new assignments go in the running to win movie tickets from Regent Cinemas.
