What's on? The circus is in town

WHEN I was a kid I was terrified of clowns, like most others, but when it came to going to the circus my fears never put me off. I can remember heading along to the Ballarat Showground in the school holidays with my sisters and lining up to enter the huge tent. It was always a really special night.

If you've driven past the Ballarat Showgrounds in the past couple of days, you would have noticed a big red tent being put together and that's because Circus Olympia has arrived in town.

The circus shows start tonight and run for about two hours. You can expect to see animals, clowns, acrobats from around the globe, hilarious antics, death defying feats. Tickets start from $25 for adults and $15 for children. The circus runs every day until Sunday, October 7.

Tonight's show starts at 7.30pm. To buy tickets visit www.circusolympia.com.au or you go can head to The Courier's Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/ballaratcourier, for your chance to win a double pass to the circus.
