The Highlanders progressed to a “live” quarter final with a seven-wicket win over Metro Northern in a heat-shortened 35-over-a-side match on Wednesday.
Central Highlands’ spinners dominated to restrict Metro Northern to 9-131, with left-armer Matt Milne taking 3-24, East Ballarat’s Harli Givvens 3-16 off his seven overs and Matt Underwood 2-2.
It then only needed 18.2 overs to reach 3-132. Tom Rogers made 77 and Blake Thomson 31 for the Highlanders’ second win in three rounds.
