A GROUP of youths allegedly assaulted two teenagers and their mother at a Buninyong house on Saturday morning.
Ballarat Criminal Investigation Unit Detective Senior Constable Paul Jolly said two male youths, aged 16 and 18, and their 44-year-old mother received grazes and facial injuries from being punched and kicked during the incident.
He said three offenders had allegedly confronted the occupants of a Buninyong house at 1am on Saturday.
“It occurred in a shed near the rear of the property,” he said.
“Three males have gone and confronted two occupants of the place.
“The mother tried to intervene and she was also assaulted.
“The mother was allegedly kicked by one of the offenders in the stomach.
“They all received minor injuries and one attended hospital.”
Detective Senior Constable Jolly said the reason for the assault was not clear at this point.
He said a 16-year-old had been charged with assault and was bailed to appear in the Children’s Court in Ballarat on October 29.
“We’re still in the throes of trying to locate and investigate two males who were probably involved,” Detective Senior Constable Jolly said.
