In today's
The Age
newspaper
(September 22) it was reported that the Catholic Church had upheld 618 cases of criminal child abuse by clergy in the past 16 years. Yet there are just three Ballarat clergy who were prosecuted, convicted by a jury and are serving current prison sentences. So why haven't the remaining 615 "upheld" cases of criminal child abuse not been prosecuted by Victoria Police and the OPP through our criminal courts?
