But that doesn't mean she's ready to hang up the saddle.
The Melbourne Cup-winning jockey told The Courier that she would combine riding and training when the state's dual licensing comes into play in August.
Payne said she didn't have any horses lined up to come to her new stable, but believed the ability to ride her own gallopers in races would be of benefit.
“That’s the whole idea of the dual licensing is that I can ride (the horse) as well,” she said.
"I was hoping to have one ready for when (the licensing) came in, but at this stage I'm not planning too much. I'm just going with the flow.”
Meanwhile, the new raceday stalls at the Ballarat track were put to use for the first time during Wednesday’s meeting.
The revamp took place while there was a break from racing, which stemmed back to November last year.
