In conjunction with the Scotsburn Community Fundraiser group, the BDTC will host a trots night to raise more funds for the cause.
The night will take place on Friday, February 12 and features an impressive incentive to encourage local businesses to take part.
Race sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses who wish to contribute, with a $500 fee allowing organisations to take ownership of a race for a night, which delivers exposure through racing networks and and on marketing and advertising materials.
Ballarat and District Trotting Club marketing manager Paul O’Donnell said the cause means a lot to plenty of members around the club.
“We want to get as many bums on seats here as we can for support,” Mr O’Donnell said.
“From a club perspective, we’re really supportive of the cause, it’s close to our hearts and we want to chip in and and raise as much money as we can.
Mr O’Donnell said the night is a true family affair, with raffles and prizes available alongside a fire engine display and plenty of kids activities.
Firefighter Jason Adams, who is also a driving force behind the Scotsburn Community Fundraiser, said the event could help proceeds hit the $18,000 mark.
“We’re up to $12,700 so far in the (Scotsburn) Community Fundraiser,” Mr Adams said.
“Paul and I have discussed that we might aim to get between $3000-$5000 on the night – that would be fantastic.
“If we can get up to $18,000, that would be pretty significant for the cause.”
The cost is $35 per person, with $10 from each ticket donated directly to the cause.
Each ticket includes a three course meal, admission and racebook.
Inquiries and bookings can be made at 53359041 or through the pod@ballarattrottingclub.com.au email address.
