SEBASTOPOL is abuzz with news Brett Goodes is now a Kookaburra.
The former Western Bulldogs player was announced as the club's marquee recruit at training on Wednesday night, following confirmation he will play for the Ballarat Football League strugglers in 2016.
There had been long-running speculation about where Goodes would play after being delisted by the AFL club at the end of last season, but the Kookaburras won the race to secure the 31-year-old.
Sebastopol senior coach Shane Snibson revealed the signing in the rooms to a big applause from players and supporters.
"It's just another key plank in us slowly, gradually improving and having people join our club and associated with us (to show) that we are on the right track and doing the right thing,” Snibson told the group.
