Whittle is not likely to get everything his way though in a field of 30-plus.
The state’s number two driver Mark Miles and state point score leader Matthew Domburg will throw out a major challenge.
Craig Templeton, Jo-Anne Scott, Jay Dickson, David Chivers, Tim Hutchinson and Allan Farmer will be among the home track drivers keen to make an impact in the biggest event of the season for this class at Redline.
AMCA Nationals will provide another feature event on program also featuring street stocks, unlimited sedans and V8 thunder sedans.
The AMCA National line-up has been boosted by the return to racing of reigning Australian champion Mark Lincoln.
He has been confirmed as driver for a South Australian-based owner and has already chalked up a win in SA for the team.
Bill Lodwick, Paul Sullivan, Jamie Collins and Dean Heseltine will be other names to watch.
The unlimited sedan field includes last-start Redline winner Nathan Fawns.
His biggest competition should come from Scott Ellis, who has been firing in a state series, Matty Chiminello, Corey Knox, Craig Phillips and Des Birkin.
Almost 100 cars will be action on the program.
Gates open at 2pm, with racing from 4pm
