Sutton’s House of Music will also join in on the ooby dooby, with a full flush of rockabilly bands putting a spell on you.
Sutton’s co-owner Dani Fry said this year’s efforts followed a similar fringe event the venue ran last year, with plenty of “people in circle skirts” – including the staff – rocking around the clock the entire weekend.
“It’s a great floor for people to dance on, and it’s an all-out fun atmosphere that you can feel in the streets because of the Ballarat Beats,” she said.
“Sutton’s loves getting into the rockabilly mood to celebrate.
“Rockabilly is not something we put on a lot here at Sutton’s, but we really love it and we love getting in the atmosphere of the festival.”
Ms Fry said the festival drew Ballarat rockabilly fans from their homes.
Sutton’s will have an act performing every day during the festival next weekend.
Friday February 12 will feature Sun Rising, a tribute band to the music label from Memphis. Tickets are $32 for the show only or $82 for the dinner and show.
A free concert will be held on February 13 with Melbourne neo-rockabilly group The Infernos.
Valentine’s Day will feature an afternoon event with roots and Americana group The Rechords from 3pm. Cost is $5.
