Miss Plover, 18, is one of only 50 dancers selected from across Australia and overseas to take part in next week’s Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Melbourne.
While she has competed and won plenty of championships and state titles at the Victorian Scottish Union over the years, this will be the first time she will dance before a crowd of 50,000 people, at Etihad Stadium.
The show will feature 1200 performers and a full-size replica of Edinburgh Castle.
Miss Plover’s talent is such that she was also selected to dance at the USA tattoo, but she declined after receiving an offer to study at Federation University.
She practices for two hours every day, and has done since she was four years old – following in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother, who were also highland dancers.
“Dancing always comes first,” she said.
“If we had a party, we’d go to dance instead.”
