That was one of the key reasons Sarah Britten and Mel Morris launched the pop-up shop for the homeless last year.
The March 12-13 event will be the duo’s fourth shop – and they expect it to be twice as big. Clothes, non-perishable foods and other essential items will line tables at Trades Hall.
“There’s a lot more need than what was initially thought,” Ms Morris said.
“There are those that do have a roof over their heads and are barely surviving.
“They’re the one’s you don’t hear about.”
All donations will be sorted by volunteers the weekend before the event.
Anyone who needs items will be shown through the shop by a volunteer and given clothing free of charge. The group desperately needs volunteers.
This year representatives from various services will be at the event, so that those who need it can be connected to organisations that can help them. To volunteer call Ms Britten on 0468 945 804.
