The 2014 winner produced an impressive heat win off the testing mark of 3.75m in the last of 10 heats in Saturday’s first day of the Ballarat Athletic Club Carnival.
Although there were quicker times than his 12.64 seconds, the Yallambie sprinter appeared to have plenty in hand as he overwhelmed his rivals.
He has drawn the first semi-final.
Noddy Angelakos (11.5m) ran the fastest heat-winning time of 12.39.
Ballarat will have three representatives in Sunday’s semi-finals after qualifying with fastest losing times.
Liam Procaccino (7.25m), Shane Woodrow (9.5m) and Rob Lehmann (11.00) will all meet Angelakos in the last of four semi-finals, in which first and second advance to the $12,500 Freight Bar Ballarat Gift final, 120m
