For the 63-year-old it was his first win in four years and first double.
Wearmouth said this was the last thing he had expected, with just making a final having been an objective for the weekend.
He said his previous success in a 120m had been four years ago, while he had to go back seven years to when he last claimed a 300m. with serious posterior cruciate ligament and Achilles tendon injuries over the past four years.
The double also delivered Wearmouth a $500 bonus for topping the points aggregate over the masters 120m and 300m.
