What's on? I can hear the bells

TODAY is my first day back from a four-day weekend and, of course, Ballarat decided to rub it in by turning on the weather while I'm stuck in the office. When I went home for lunch my entire family, who are all on school holidays, were lounging around the backyard soaking up the rays.

But, it seems nothing, not even the glorious weather that I can't enjoy, can break my spirit because ... last night I got engaged!

It was a complete surprise and so many times today I've caught myself in a daze just thinking back to that moment and all the wonderful wishes we've already been sent. My content director Kim Quinlan said you can always tell a newly engaged girl because she's always glancing at her ring! And today I feel like that's all I've been doing.

So tonight, my fiance and I are celebrating with his family by going out for dinner at the Western Hotel. I love this pub and since it has been done up the dining area looks fantastic. Big black and white photos cover the walls and create so much character within the hotel.

And, because our days are getting longer, I hope you get out of work at a reasonable time and get to catch some vitamin D before the sun goes down. A walk around Lake Wendouree or wine at the Lake View is just what this kind of weather calls for!

Feature event

I'm engaged, so we're celebrating at the Western Hotel. And if you're wanting to make the most of this weather, why not go for a walk around the lake or head to the Lake View for a drink?

Something at the cinema

Looper is screening at 6.45pm and 9pm.

Ruby Sparks is screening at 4pm, 6.25pm and 8.35pm.

Bait 3D is screening at 9.10pm.

Something on TV

Prime is my choice of channel tonight. At 8.45pm, Winners & Losers is on, which is followed by the series return of Grey's Anatomy at 9.45pm where the doctors deal with the aftermath of the plane crash.

Something tomorrow

If you're on holidays and can go, I didn't want you to miss this, so I thought I'd let you know about it today. Tomorrow there is midweek racing at Dowling Forest Racecourse from 11am. It’s a perfect day with friends and family and entry is free.
