Co-founder and frontman of legendary Australian bands Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock, Wilson has been hitting stages for more than 45 years as well as producing records for the likes of Skyhooks, Jo Jo Zep & the Falcons and The Screaming Jets.
Daddy Cool’s 1971 Eagle Rock – written by Wilson – stayed at number 1 on the Australian charts for 10 weeks, a song so iconic that even Elton John was inspired by it, soon after penning Crocodile Rock.
Twice inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, Wilson has been performing solo since the 1990s, with his latest album I Come in Peace released in 2010.
The album’s title track, played at more than 50 commercial radio stations nationally, was covered by Joe Cocker in his final album, Fire It Up.
During the early 2000s, Wilson toured with his band Ross Wilson & The Peacenicks, performing alongside the likes of Chris Isaak and Crosby Stills & Nash.
Now 68, Wilson still performs about 100 shows a year, with his touring schedule already booked out into 2017.
He will perform at Sutton’s House of Music on February 19. Tickets are $40 for the show only, or $90 for a two-course dinner and show. Tickets available at www.suttonshouseofmusic.com.au
