THE tight-knit Buninyong-Scotsburn community continues to keep giving to families devastated by 2015 bush fires.

The Buninyong and District Community Bank organised movie fundraiser night is the latest in a line of fundraisers, and highlights the giving nature of the community.

The bank kicked off the fundraising last year with a $10,000 donation and broader efforts had raised over $60,000.

Mr Scanlon said many in the community knew fire-affected families and had a “fair idea” of how devastating the fires had been.

He said everyone in the community had wanted to do what they could to support families in need. The latest movie event – a special screening of kids flick Zootopia will also prove to be a fun night out for families, Mr Scanlon said. The movie screening will be held at 7pm on Friday, March 18.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the bank, Buninyong newsagency, Buninyong Primary School, Damascus College and Emmaus primary.
