Schwarzenegger himself was on hand at the Melbourne tournament to champion the benefits of martial arts as representatives from Ballarat and Buninyong Kyokushin Karate competed against almost 200 fighters.
Mohammad Rezaie from Ballarat proved to be a dominant force in the men’s open heavyweight full contact division, taking home the gold.
Sixteen-year-old Thiilyaana Jones also took home the gold in her full contact division, while Camilla Barker’s superior technique earned her the gold medal in the adult blue belt non-contact division. Jake Smith took out the bronze in the 14 year-old full-contact division, while Jayden Wallis snared bronze in the 13 year-old full contact division.
