Fellow rider Steve Coughlan has made a heart-felt video showing the support for Mr Ashby and his family days after the accident.
Mr Coughlan was riding around the lake the day of the accident.
“As a result, many of those who follow me have been asking to be kept updated on Christian's progress,” Mr Coughlan said.
“When I saw all the concern, prayers and well-wishes coming in for Christian from all over the world, I wanted to somehow pass them on to him ... but didn't know him personally.
“But when the solidarity ride was announced …. I saw it as an opportunity for me to not only personally support the Ashby family, but also to make a video that would really show Christian the support he had locally and from around the globe.”
A gofundme page set up for Mr Ashby has raised more than $10,000 in a matter of days.
