The Reds trailed North United 2-0 at the break, but a brace from Isaac Harbour and a penalty conversion from coach Justin Whitcher led the home side to victory at Trekardo Park.
Talan Flockhart and Josh Huggett had earlier put the North boys in front, but it wasn’t enough as the Reds claimed their first win of the new Ballarat and District Soccer Association division one season.
Warrnambool beat Vic Park 2-1, Jacob Smeaton scored twice as Forest Rangers won 4-0 against Bacchus Marsh and Sebastopol Vikings crushed Creswick 6-0, with Kuanyjal Tuany finding the net on two occasions.
In the women’s division one competition, Warrnambool, North United and Vic Park White all remained unbeaten following wins on the weekend.
The Rangers beat Vic Park Blue 7-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Victoria Vella, Leah Cusion (five goals) and Jessica Dart (four goals) were on fire in North’s 10-2 trouncing of Creswick and Vic Park White claimed a 4-0 result in the clash with Forest.
