DAYLESFORD president John Goullett says premiership coach Andrew Button can remain at the helm for as long as he desires.
Button has agreed to a third term as Bulldogs senior coach after leading the club to the 2012 Central Highlands Football League flag.
The 40-year-old will be looking to continue a golden era in Daylesford’s history when it chases a seventh-straight grand final appearance next season.
Goullett said Button’s reappointment was straight-forward after such a successful campaign.
“Andrew doesn’t rush anything.
“His coaching process is very calculated and he is very patient,” Goullett said.
“He gives players a good chance to get to know positions and know the style of play.”
Goullett said Button was yet to make a decision on his playing future, preferring to “test the body” when the pre-season rolled around.
Meanwhile, newly-crowned club best and fairest Rob Rodgers will have a year off football as he travels overseas.
Rodgers was an integral part of the club’s success last season, and also represented the Central Highlands at interleague level and was named as vice-captain in its team of the season.
In other developments, Dunnstown is expected to announce its new senior coach today.
Paul Jennings has stepped down after two seasons in the role, saying it had been an enjoyable period with the club.
“Over the time I really enjoyed the opportunity and chance to coach in a club that’s got a really successful background and coming from a successful culture,” Jennings said.
Dunnstown reached finals under Jennings in 2011, but finished 11th in a disappointing campaign last season.
