He will line up against Murray Bushrangers in a third round encounter at Carlton’s IKON Park.
This is his first year on the Rebels’ list after winning the Warrnambool District league under-17.5 best and fairest last season playing for Russells Creek.
Wason is one of five changes to the team which lost to Dandenong Stingrays by 30 points when the Rebels last played on April 2.
AFL Academy players in Jarrod Berry, Hugh McCluggage and Jarrod Korewha return after a two-week commitment with the academy.
Charlie Lee is the other inclusion – returning from injury.
The changes give the Rebels significantly more experience as they search for their first win of the season under new coach Gerard FitzGerald.
In contrast, the Murray Bushrangers are unbeaten and on top of the ladder. North Ballarat is sitting in 11th position.
This round sees the first involvement in the TAC Cup this season of the NSW/ACT Rams and Queensland..
