The ex-Fremantle tagger, who has joined Essendon as a top-up player this season, has been dropped back to the VFL after just three appearances with the Bombers in the AFL.
Essendon has also added Nick Kommer and Jackson Merrett for the encounter with the Selkirk Roosters, which are looking to build on their first round win over Coburg.
Crowley has been freed up this season from his traditional run-with role and is likely to lock horns with the young Roosters’ midfield.

IN the AFL, former North Ballarat Rebels skipper Jed Adcock will make his debut for the Western Bulldogs.
As a 200-game veteran and past Brisbane Lions captain, Adcock's experience will be imperative as he steps into the vacancy left by injured skipper Bob Murphy.
Adcock joined the Bulldogs in the off-season as a rookie after being delisted by the Lions.
His selection comes after being promoted to the senior list.
Other Rebels graduates Darcy Tucker (Fremantle) and Jacob Hopper (GWS Giants) are in contention to make their AFL debuts.
They on extended interchange benches in teams named on Thursday night. Each is in his first season in the AFL.
MEANWHILE, former Redan and Rebel players Shaun Grigg brings up his 150th AFL game in Richmond’s clash with the West Coast Eagles on Friday night.
He played 43 games with Carlton from 2007 to 2010 before switching to Richmond.
