IT'S been almost 12 months since Korweinguboora man Andrew Caulfield was last seen, and police are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise him.
The 45-year-old was last seen at work on November 9 and failed to meet his son at the Ballarat Railway Station later that day.
Police believe he may have travelled to the Mount Blackwood area near Ballan, on or around that date.
They do not believe he has a vehicle or money and that he left the area of his own accord.
They say concerns developed when he failed to contact anyone he knew.
Andrew is described as being Caucasian, about 178 centimetres tall, of medium build, with green eyes, short brown hair and a brown goatie.
He has a piercing above his left eye and in his left ear, as well as tattoos of dragons, samurai, skulls, a grim reaper and the name "Judy" on his upper arms.
He was last seen wearing a fluorescent t-shirt with his name printed on it, jeans and work boots.
Police believe Andrew may have self-harmed and he was known to frequent the Blackwood area and Wombat State Forest.
Investigators are keen to hear from anyone who regularly visits those areas who might recognise Andrew or have seen anything unusual such as discarded clothing or other items.
Previous searches of the area by police and SES failed to recover Andrew or any items, but there are old abandoned mine shafts within the area.
He has also been known to hitch-hike and may have been given a lift by a passing motorist.
At this stage investigators do not believe the disappearance to be suspicious.
