Police are hunting a man who they say sexually assaulted a Ballarat girl in Wendouree last week.
Sexual Crimes Squad detectives are appealing for public assistance after the teenager was assaulted early last Thursday morning.
Investigators have been told the 15-year-old girl was walking along Primrose Street at 2.15am on October 4 when she was approached by an unknown man and sexually assaulted.
Police say the male offender then drove off in a ute, in an unknown direction.
The offender is described as being Caucasian, aged 35 to 40 with a medium build.
He had grey facial hair and was wearing a black hooded jacket, believed to have white 'FlightPath' text down the sleeves.
Police have released two images of a man they believe may be able to assist them with their enquiries.
Local detectives from the Ballarat Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigative Team were in charge of the case last week, but it has been taken over by the state-based Sexual Crimes Squad.
Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
