A man has allegedly stolen a State Emergency Service vehicle then rammed into a police car as he tried to escape their pursuit.

The 27-year-old allegedly drove the Ford Ranger four-wheel-drive out from the SES unit on Bignell Road, Bentleigh East about 5.30am on Monday.
A short time later, police intercepted the vehicle in Bricker Street, Cheltenham.
The Bentleigh East driver allegedly reversed the SES Ford Ranger into the police car causing extensive damage, police say.
He was arrested and charged with burglary, theft of motor car, conduct endanger serious injury and bail offences.
The man was remanded in custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on April 26.
No one was injured in the collision.
