The successful Dob in Dealer campaign, that saw a 200 per cent rise in the number of calls regarding suspected drug activity in Ballarat, has been relaunched by community law enforcement leaders.
The campaign urges community members to report suspicious behaviour so police can target drug manufacturers, dealers and distributors. Superintendent Andrew Allen urged community members to report suspicious behaviour – including cars frequently visiting at unusual hours and houses that remained vacant for times on end.
“Across the Ballarat Division we continue to see how illicit drugs impact on families and the community. Ballarat Police will maintain a strong focus in this area to combat the manufacture and trafficking of illicit drugs and reduce the harm it causes,” Superintendent Allen said.
Police hope identifying the supplier, distributor and manufacturers will stop the drug wreaking havoc. Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000.
