In something of a “musical coup”, the township will this weekend be visited by Melbourne’s New Palm Court Orchestra at Buninyong Primary School’s Gala Concert.
A one-hour concert will be held at Buninyong Primary, followed by a night of canapes and jazz at Buninyong Town Hall.
The evening will also feature a silent auction and a “musical tree”, where attendees can donate to buy new instruments for the school.
Organiser Gorgi Coghlan said a highlight would be a combined performance with the orchestra’s seasoned musicians and Buninyong’s primary school students as guest soloists.
She said audiences would be “blown away” by the children’s professionalism and talent.
Tickets are $35 on the door, with all proceeding going to Buninyong Primary’s school music program.
The performance begins this Saturday at 6pm with all welcome.
