More than $2500 was raised through an event which shone the light on the city’s soaring rates of family violence. Former Australian Queen of Pop iconic television star Colleen Hewett lead was a guest speak at the Ballarat dinner on Monday night, hosted by the Alfredton Rotary club. Proceeds of the event will go directly to Ballarat organisations working to halt family violence.  Ms Hewett travelled the city to inspire other women to speak out about their own abuse. The performer endured a year and a half of violent attacks by her second husband, who has since died.
