The Rush trailed the Tornadoes at the end of the first term in a low scoring affair, before managing to break away to go into the main change with a six point lead.
The clash began to open up in the third term as both sides battled for ascendancy, with the six point buffer remaining in the Rush’s favour heading into the final break. Despite the determination of the visitors who outscored the Rush in the final quarter, the home side were able to hold on to register their fourth win on the trot.
The success was the most notable win in the Rush’s recent run of form, with Launceston having won five of their last six. Rush co-captain Kristy Rinaldi said all eight players who took to the court lifted at the right time against quality opposition.
Young gun Abbey Wehrung battled through back pain to post a critical 23 points for the Rush, as well as amassing five rebounds.
